Marshall Smith is a composer and songwriter, MD of music company The Sound Room and Co-founder and Chairperson of the Screen Music & Sound Guild of NZ.
Est. in 2003, Marshall's company The Sound Room creates high quality music and sound design for film, TV, games, theatre, artists and bands all over the world - based in Auckland, New Zealand.
As a company they have scored 13+ feature films, 70+ documentaries, TV series, short films & animation, 100+ TVC's along with music for games, theatre, cabaret, museums, events and album production.
Marshall is an award winning singer/songwriter & composer who won a place at the Berlinale in 2016, an ART Venture Award in 2012 for creative entrepreneurs and was granted a Professional Development Award in 2011 from the NZ Film Commission. He has also been a finalist for song of the year in the APRA Silver Scrolls (2004).
